Cant start it!

Been off the 1150 for a few months while my bust collar bone heals.

Tried to start her yesterday but the engine doesnt fire and it just click-click-clicks. Sounds like its coming from under the tank / front end maybe. Like a relay typre sound.

Any ideas?

Bike has been regularly optimate charged & fresh unleaded put in.

Sounds like the battery. Starter solenoid actuating but not enough juice in the battery to turn the engine over. Maybe charge it with a normal charger (instead of the Opti) and see what happens

Just had the same problem with my 650.....
Battery...even though it was being optimated....
New battery....no more clicking.....engine fires up.....cool!!

About £40.....but the garage fitted it as well...'cos we weren't sure it was definitely that.....

You may not need one yet, try to charge th old one first.

Make sure and check that the purefied water levels are ok. And give it a charge off the bike. No reason why it wont fire up after this. Happened to mine after a 2 month lay up.

Just to let you know.

Tried charging the battery. One hour fast, then overnight trickle.Still no joy

So I bit the bullet and went to the dealer.

Bloody £89!!!!!!

Good battery mind. 2 year guarantee sealed exide, but £89

Starts a treat now tho'.
