Hi people,
I am setting up a challenge to raise monies for Pilgrims Hospice's in Kent. I'm looking for a very small group of GSer's willing to do a ride-out from Canterbury to Lands End in Cornwall, in a day !! It is possible to do the return aswell but wouldn't hold you to it. However, I think if we could get people to do the return we would raise more money and press interest therefore more sponsors etc, etc. This is in it's first stages and I am looking to be doing the challenge in April/May 2008. Idea's need to be fixed fairly rapidly so fundraising can begin. I am hoping to raise in the region of £5/10K and if I can sign-up two or three hardcore travellers, would hope that we could raise in the region of £30K for this very worthy cause. I am also planning a mass ride-out between the three hospice's (Canterbury, Ashford and Margate) to coincide with our departure and would be interested to hear from anyone who would like to support that.
Just as a background to this, my Mum was looked after by Pilgrims and it is now time for me to repay their kindness's. Not many people realise that the hospice movement in the UK only get's around 20/22% of it's funding from the state, the rest is all raised by the individual hospice's. I will be setting up a JustGiving website in due course and will post regular update's. I'm not a registered tosser as yet but am in the process of setting up an account (have emailed Paul and am awaiting a reply) !
Many thanks for looking at this and if you think you can help in any way, please contact me. :thumb

Thanks for the reply, Paul. I'd love to but this is for Pilgrims Hospice. I don't want to water down the monies raised. I understand how important ALL hospice work is but must stay focused. Thanks anyway. If you feel you could help in any way, please do. It will be appreciated.

Hi Invicta Moto (Paul?), would be glad to arange a meet or phone call. Not sure how we go about this online ? Any suggestions ? I'm at the beginning of this but have been to see Pilgrims and they have filled me with idea's. I've got a plan in mind and would love to see you and others involved in any or all aspect's. Contact much appreciated. Phil aka Cardigan

If you don't mind a non-GS taking part I could well be interested. I think it needs to be there and back in a day to make it a real challenge!
