Cap missing from Swing arm?

It seems my bike is missing a cap from the swing arm - see picture.
Is it important and if so what do I ask for at the dealer?

Just checked mine, and your cap is missing. Was it on the bike when you picked it up?

No it wasn't there, but the bikes not new.

You could go for the R&G Shaft Protector product no. SPOO12BK Instead of the missing cap. (It’s for the K1200S/R but fits the R1200GS)

As for how clean the bike was..... a tribute to its former owner!
After Sundays ride it is now looking like it's been recovered from the canal
