I'm not sure whether this is the right section but perhaps a moderator can move it if needed. I am contemplating buying a frog eye sprite on this site and I have found it difficult in finding out the detailed buyers fees. I also cannot find out whether the for sale adverts and the auctions have the same fees or different. Has anybody any experience of this site could or bad. Thanks in advance.

Scroll down and click on ‘How bidding works’.
All I can find is a feeling from £300, but no mention of a % or a sliding scale for purchases up to 10k or up to £30k say.also anyone successfully used this site.

It does state that the fee will be clearly displayed before you finalise your bid so I guess you just need to go through the bidding process to find out. Maybe they think the average punter is shite at maths and would struggle to work it out for themselves 😂
Having bought a 1968 Midget recently after looking at several cars that looked excellent in photos but were nothing like that in reality I would never buy a car from that era without a physical inspection.

A nice reminder of the trap we can fall into through misty, nostalgic spectacles.
A viewing is essential before any bidding IMHO.
Photos can too easily mask the shite and expense hiding underneath a polished and rattle-can sprayed failed summer project.
I almost fell into the trap a few years ago. I contacted a seller who put his pride and joy up on the auction platform (asking to view) but was met with some excuse. Anyway, I subsequently followed the auction and the bid process strongly pointed to shill bidding by the vendor in the latter stages of the auction.
Was glad I gave it a swerve.
There are probably honest auctions out there, but there’s easy scope for some unscrupulous behaviour, too.

Yes, I have sold a few cars (classified ads) on here successfully

Ive bought a Stag, TR6 and a TR4 from this site always seems a bit expensive but the vendors do take a decent offer, worth a look

That's the site the OP is asking about.

Thanks for all the information. The auction aspect does seem cloaked with a certain level of secrecy, which to me is not helpful. As everyone would expect the classified section would not expect a potential purchaser to pay also .
