Car Stereos with USB socket

I just bought a Sony MEX-BT3700U HiFi for the car.............

It appears to do everything..............

* Tuner
* CD Player (normal and MP3-loaded)
* Ipod via USB
* Memory Stick MP3 via USB
* Iphone (music) via Bluetooth or USB
* Iphone (phone) via Bluetooth

I thought the USB socket (very close to where my knee is, while driving) was a bit precarious with a normal USB stick in it - so had a look at what else was available...............

You can get a DeLock USB stick from Amazon which seems just the job:

Not cheap, at.......

£21 for a 4GB one
£32 for an 8GB one

But - a damn sight cheaper than a busted USB socket in your car hi-fi

Looks a great piece of kit for the car and the USB "stick" is sooo tiny.

Looks like a cracking Car Stereo Al

I got a couple of 2Gb Micro SD with very small USB Readers for about £6 each from PLAY.COM a while ago. To make the reader even smaller I removed the plastic protective cover.

PLAY.Com still do the 2Gb Micro SD Card and Reader for about £6 and Amazon do the reader for about £2 and 8Gb cards from about £12 upwards. So for less than half the price of the DeLock USB stick you could have a Micro SD card & USB Reader which is only mm's bigger and not as wide as the DeLock USB stick. Morrisons are doing Sandisk 4Gb micro SD cards for £5.

Mmmmm............. they look a bit of a bargain

I'd say that reader protruded about the same amount as the Ipod USB connector.
