Carb setup in the south-east area?

Hi guys, l,m having trouble trying to setup the carbs on my R100GSPD after fitting new cables seems like my carbtune II is a inaccurate piece of junk, l,ve tried following the guides posted on here without much luck and l,m leaving the UK on the bike next Tuesday.

is there anyone in the south east who l can balance the carbs in exchange for a crate of beer

Down the road from Kingston in west molesey, l,m about an hour from Leytonstone the bike is ridable (loaded up for a tour though) so could ride there if you can do the carbs??

Hi

I have a carbtune II and have no problem using it to balance my 1989 R100GS. It takes about 10 minutes.

I would be happy to do it for you, but If you are having trouble balancing them you may have a problem with the carbs, which would take considerably longer to fix and may require replacement parts.

When you try and balance the carbs what goes wrong? Assuming the bike actually idles are both cylinders firing and what does the carbtune show?

Can't help it - it just comes out naturally without even thinking.

He came, he saw, he carburetted.


Mixture was off, idle a bit out, cables were almost in sync.

5 minutes and all done - the one noticable problem was the rubber inlet stubs distorted, i think someone in the past had fitted the plastic inlet tubes on the wrong sides and the rubber stubs between carb and head have a noticable jaunty angle and the carbs bounce as it ticks over.
