Carbon Air Snorkel?

My girlfriend collected her 1150GS last Sunday. It's fitted with a K&N air filter & the standard snorkel to the airbox. Along with a few other bits is a c/f snorkel that seems a bigger bore than standard?

Are they any good?
Is it meant to run in conjunction with the K&N?
What do they cost new?

IIRC, the carbon snorkel is either a Zach or a Wuedo item. Check the websites for prices.
