Has anyone optioned in the carbon cylinder guards? I appreciate this is a GS forum so crash bars are basically mandatory, and I get that they’re wiiiildly expensive for what they are, but I can’t bring myself to strap steel tubes to this bike… It’d be like putting bull bars on a Gallardo.

If not the carbon guards, are there any other cylinder guards / frame sliders for the bike which will keep it at least rideable after a drop?

I put the BMW aluminium guards on. They bolt onto the rocker covers using the original mounting points. I think they don't spoil the look of the bike and hopefully afford some protection. I also bought Wunderlich frame sliders for the front forks and also the rear driveshaft.
Hopefully won't be putting them to the test.

Thanks for the suggestion. I can only find rocker covers for the 1200 in online searches... Do you have a link to where you bought them from?

I have them on the 1250RS, I see they are available on the 1300RS

i had the x heads on my 1250 rs no problem i tried x heads for the 1300rs on my rs 1300 they came loose even after retightening and adding some loctite the covers move andf would easily pop out they were removed and original covers have been refitted for the time being
