Carbon Hugger for the WC

It looks a beautiful thing, and nice things cost money, somebody will have spent many weeks on the R&D before one penny has made, and at least somebody has manufactured one and done a very nice job. The sad thing is that it should have been made by BMW and should have come fitted on the bike as standard equipment.

got one on my hexhead. not sure it does feck all though :blast

Apart from the price (choke) the carbon is going to clash with the standard rear splash guard.
I'm sure it's a class piece of work but surely someone will come up with a much cheaper black plastic insert mounted inside the normal mudguard which won't have to be designed to carry the stresses this single sided one moving up and down with the suspension will have to sustain?

Most of this sort of stuff is just pointless bling that does next to bugger all - if you like the looks then go for it but don't forget that it will increase your unsprung weight, which is never a good thing.

Errrrr ... have you seen the average size of the GS rider (versus a piece of carbon fibre .. ) :D

(I of course buck the trend .... )

The rider is sprung weight not unsprung weight

Yeah, but they're still averaging around 16 stone ... if peepes want to make their bike lighter they ought to look in the mirror first .. :D

+1 on that

I think the unsprung weight of that piece of carbon will be about two pieces of paper :D

Had a close up look at the underside and there looks to be plenty of scope for some under wings to protect the edges where the spray come through, they could easily be attached to the lower edges of the rear mudguard.

Take it of and ride it for a change and you'll soon find out

:blast
What a load of bollocks that statement is, look in the 2013 past events. Section and you will see my bike gets used.
Actually look in any of the past. 6 years of past events and you will see all my bikes get used in all weathers and seasons
