I went there last week to get an intermittent ignition fault sorted.

Mike was extremely helpful and diagnosed what he thought was the fault, this was difficult because it would often cure itself then return 30 or 40 miles later.
He then lent me some parts to try for a week to make sure the problem was fixed before ordering me the new parts. No problems since.

I'll definitely be using him from now on.
Very reasonable labor rates.

Highly recommended.

He is being courted but has turned down some work from them to service my bike on Thursday.

Just wanted to say that I have spoken to Mike who is working on my bike at the moment and I can confirm Mike is in Wales to stay! He is a great bloke who does a good job at a very reasonable rate. We should all be supporting him.

Cardiff Motorrad

I had my GS 1150 Adv Serviced by Mike today. He also did the rear drive shaft seal and fitted new rear brake pads. I was very happy with the service and price and have no hesitation recommending Cardiff Motorrad to anyone. He also spent some time talking to me about my bike and gave me tips on what to watch out for and how to look after it. I will certainly use him come next service time.

Just got back from having the 12k service done by Mike.

Very good service and I had a pleasant couple of hours chatting with him and his dad as they went about their work.

Very good value too - the 12k service came to about what a BMW dealer would charge for a 6k one.

Mike used genuine BMW parts and Valvoline 20W/50 API SG mineral oil so these costs are much the same. The main cost saving is Mike's much lower labour rate.
Currently, he's not VAT registered so this helps too.

Has serviced my new (to me) 1150GSA this week and fitted a new set of tyres. A great job done and a good saving on BM rates.

Also gave me some tips on regular maintenance (cleaning brake pads) which I really must try and do.

Just to bump this thread, I've had a new rear Tourance and new rear brake pads fitted by Mike recently, he cannot be beaten in terms of expertise and value for money IMHO!
