Looks like I need a new intercom.

The missus very kindly put it on charge for me, but tried to force the wrong charger into the port and now it’s goosed.

What other cardo units fit in the same baseplate? Or am I better off getting something else?

My mate still has the other Q3 from the dual set, so it’ll need to connect to that.

Thanks guys.

Most modern units use mesh, yours is bluetooth, mate and I had the Q3 dual set for about 10years, great units, we upgraded to Packtalk could persuade your mate its time to upgrade

Things have moved on. New baseplates and magnetic attachment now with mesh , voice commands , JBL speakers and 15+ rider comms . Get your money out.
That said choose the brand ( which gang you are in ) carefully because different brands don’t like to talk to each other .

Mesh definitely the way to go but be aware, despite some claims, Sena Mesh doesn't link to Cardo Mesh sets (at least not with the one's I've tried it with). I use Sena because that's what most people I ride with use. My UCOM mesh unit is also compatible with Sena. I've found Mesh betters bluetooth for range, signal strength and reliability.

That's good news.

Yes we've gone with the Ucom16, thanks to a member on here we got a dual set for a bargain price brand new.

I've not ridden with my pal yet, but I rode today and used it with Waze, and also took a call, and it was very good clarity.

Wish it was as easy as the Q3 to remove, but I'll live with that.

The UCom 16 is one I've been using on my spare lid for a year and it's been faultless. You can get larger batteries for those too, extending ride comms time but the standard battery lasts for many hours (I've used mine for over 5hr stretches). It's a doddle to use and set up, and unlike Sena units, is waterproof!
