Location
North Yorkshire - but the map isn't the territory
Had a quick run out to meet Dazzer Leigh and Craiig in Masham today - Dazzer & Leigh are off on the big one dead-soon so running out of chances for a catch-up.

Seeing as Mashams only 10 miles away hardly warranted getting bike out...but...we could try going over the tops to Reeth 'on the way'

Bev tried on Wednesday for work and failed due to 5Ft snow drift on the way to Grinton - this is what is was like then

Was contemplating buttertubs and return leg by Swaledale (assume open) but time meant we needed to crack on back really.

Short linking BOAT onto other ickle road and back to Askrigg - don't think we'd get up the other side - a white lane rather than green today ;)

What a pleasure it was to get on 684 and find hardly any traffic (except Middleham horse trials - stowed out).

Even beter no frickin power-rangers as forecast of precipitation and the previous weeks snow I guess, anyway made it one of the best rides down there for years.

Back to Masham for a belting egg and chips and tea and a couple of hours of great craic talking travel and travels.

Just time to call at Blacksheep and pick up some of the Ltd edition Russian Stout before getting home just avoiding the oncoming rain and in time to get the washing in :)

Just one of those rides that makes you so bloody happy to have a bike on the road, briliant - that 10 miles seemed so much further :thumb

Soon come the sun, the nutters and the back-roads :(

Nice to catch up with you both today. We hope your free for a brew at Fimber on the 7th before we catch the Ferry. Then we may cross path's next year in Africa.

We had a very cold ride home today, a bit of a shock compared to last week when it was 22c.

Catch up soon

Dazzer and Leigh

I went over Grinton moor yesterday on the 650 & now ploughed there are 'icebergs' of snow that could cause a serious accident & in Upper Teesdale above Stanhope there were 6foot + drifts which made life interesting

Riding around today in the Borders & Solway coast was lovely in comparison

And for those N Yorks cost bound for Easter Monday mind the drifts over Westerdale way - single track (car width) in places, wouldn't want to meet a gawking tw*t coming the other way on your bike...no where to go

Took car yesterday for convenience - until we got to scooterville, I mean Whitby - were it was a right inconvenience due to HUUUUGGGGGEEEEEE crowds o folk.

Some of the Fryupdale and like may be even more interesting...as might the off road

yep, I was up above Hob Hole today and was surprised to see the snow still there!

I would normally have been there for the scooter do, but was too busy to go, bah! The big scooter rallies usually have loads at them, turning the air blue with smoke!:D
