made the error of chucking mine in the washing machine with my other riding gear, The zips on my troos & jacket basically damaged the outer shell of the vest and now its leaks water like a sieve. Moral - wash it in the net bag provided separately.
New one on order for EURO 120 :rolleyes:

Sorry to hear that, Grant! Prior to this, how effective have you found the vest to be in cooling you in high temperatures?

I borrowed a BMW cool vest and mesh jacket for my recent trip in which it averaged 32 degrees each day, reaching 35 on one day. I just dunked it in the sink at each stop. It was very effective, especially when standing.

Note to self: when you know the weather is going to be very hot, take off the MRA X-creen and put the OEM windscreen back on before leaving.

Hi Simon. I have the Macna EVO dry cooling vest. You fill it with around 500ml water via a slot in the neck, squeeze the water around the vest to even out the fill and wear it. I have found it to work amazingly well. They say it will cool your body down by about 10-15 degrees above ambient. On our recent trip the temps were between 27 and 38. At 38 it’s still hot but the vest does feel much cooler. You do need an airflow over the vest to make it work though so an airflow jacket is a must.

I find it one of the best things I have bought. My riding pal bought one new and was very pleased. That’s why I have immediately bought a replacement for my damaged one

Note I have the dry version which means no dunking in water and getting wet. You stay completely dry

Hope this belps

Do you find it also needs to be next to the skin? I tried mine over a t-shirt and didn't feel it was cooling me at all.

My IXS version due to arrive today/tomorrow.

It looks identical to and made by Inuteq for IXS as is Macna. Inuteq has larger front cooling panels and. A stretchy mesh side panels. It also has a mesh back pocket to keep some bits like a map when say cycling.

If you type in Inuteq into Google this is what you see.

For £124 delivered it is the cheapest option out there. Does take some time to arrive from Hamburg though.
Mind you I’ve been dicked about with UK Inuteq suppliers. None keep physical stock it seems.

Just had a message that my IXS vest will be delivered today between 13:00-14:00. 😃 a bit late for the heatwave though 😆

I find just riding in a T-shirt works well.:augie

virtually identical in concept just made by 2 different companies. I preferred the Macna as it fitted my fat belly better....both equally as good as each other and do what it says on the tin.....

Rumour has it. Macna vests are made by Inuteq 😉

Argh… 🤬

How well does it fit you? I'm a large according to Klim, but a XXL / XXXL according to Macna, I'd usually be an XL
It does fit me loose. In sleeved tops I am a Large as I’ve broadened in shoulders over the past couple of years. However, across chest I am a Medium/Large depending where I buy my clothes from. This particular (IXS) vest however a bit loose on me. I’d say that if you are Large/XL then XXL will be comfortable if perhaps very slightly loose. The black side panels are made of stretchy mesh, so will expand to accommodate a more swelte figure. It is just too big for me.

I can take pictures of it on me later on today.

It’ll be going back to Louis Moto for a full refund and unfortunately for me, a new order will have to be placed for a replacement vest in Medium, or if you feel it’ll work for you, then I’d be happy to sell it to you (if you feel it’ll fit you) at cost with few quid to cover the postage.
