I decided over the weekend that I would break the habit of a lifetime and actually declare my bikes modifications to the insurance company. The main reason being if it got nicked I wanted to be able to claim for the accessories. Picked up the 'phone this morning and gave them this list...

Extenda Fenda
Migsel Light Bar
Hella FF50 spotlights
Hella Micro DE foglights
Autocom Active 7 Smart
Garmin Quest
Garmin Quest Powered Motorcycle Cradle
BMW Sat Nav Cradle Mount
Heated Grips
Adventure Screen
System Panniers and Rails
BMW Cylinder Protectors
Baglux Tank Harness
Touratech Rear Rack
Remus “Y” Piece and Silencer
Pyramid Plastics Carbon Fibre Rear Hugger

... expecting some "tutting" and a request for my card details. To my surprise the guy I spoke to was more than helpful added everything to my policy and didn't ask for any payment. I even know that it's all listed as I forgot to mention the hugger, called back and spoke to another guy who reeled the list back to me :) A result that I thought worthy of sharing.

They`re good about most modifications.

My 'LegoBike' (modded R80G/S) has the following mods....

Yamaha DTR yokes, forks and front wheel

Home made and raised rear subframe

Akront alloy rims on rebuilt wheels with stainless spokes

Stainless header pipes and collector

CCM 4" alloy 'silencer'

Acerbis 45litre polyethylene tank

Polisport enduro plastics

GPz twin headlamp fairing

There was no addition to my premium for any of that lot.

The only things that Carole Nash add a loading for are....

Turbos
Nitrous
Ex race machines registered for road use
Big bore kits
Custom paintwork ( as in mega buck 'custom show type paintwork' )
