First off, I've got a Beemer in the garage for the first time in getting on for 20 years! 2023 S1000XR... with the touring pack inc Nav Prep.

Such a good deal on the Carpuride (with a 35% discount code on top of sale prices) that the decision, BM system, Chigee or Carpuride was made for me!.... bought for £212 delivered :)
Should be landing soon.

Being new to both the XR and the Carpuride wondered if I could get this 'tips & tricks' thread going to take advantage of the experience of existing users..... pleeease! (y)

Thanks

Hi Andy not sure what you want to get out the Carpuride but to help with set if you have iPhone and a comms system, there is a UTube silent Vid from Carpuride quite old but if you follow you will end up with a decent sound set up.
If your just looking at simple navigation from A to B the google maps on your phone is more than adequate.
If your into route planning and using that then you may require a dedicated app system , I use MRA simple to plan on a lap top and is automatically on the App your phone
If you a music buff and listen to your own stuff on the phone it works well also the Global Player All will give all radio stations to stream
Hope that’s helps

Thanks KJB
Yes I should have given more details! 🥸

I use an Android phone
I've used Google maps for quite a few years now, which I do like but with the absence of actual 'waypoints' is very limited.
I think I'll go for MRA as it always seems the most discussed and recommended - I've had a brief trial of MRA.
No need for music.
Shoei Neotec III with SRL-03 comms

Any tips on initial setup? I believe that connection wise you pair the 702BS with your phone and your phone with your helmet comms. But should I connect my phone direct to the bike as well and what about the ConnectedRide app?
Any settings on the 702BS to consider / recommended?

Cheers 👍

I'm new to the Carpuride and have seen lots of complaints about the audio. I found this on You Tube yesterday. I am going to risk having a stroke and try and 'connect' it all up to phones, comms etc. over the weekend.

Thanks KJB

The CRA is not compatible with CarPlay or Android Auto.

Most definitely do NOT connect your phone to the TFT it will cause a conflict, sorry cannot help with Android but if you have any issues just email Carpuride they are always helpful, I have apple with SLR. 2 so very similar. Ref MRA you will need to buy a membership unfortunately I have the lifetime gold, look out for offers before you buy, I hated Garmin Basecamp etc so for me it’s nice and simple, and the plus side you can set it up to work offline which is a great help in this country with shite coverage good luck

Has anyone had the following 'glitch'? You put the Carpuride in the cradle and turn the bike on: it fires up. When you start the engine, it goes off and comes back on again?

I had something similar when my 702BS turned up a few weeks ago. Carpuride sent me a firmware upgrade and it solved the problem. If yours has the MCU version shown in the attaached photo then there's an update. The version they sent me is APM32F030

I had a similar issue to you when I fired up the motor so emailed their support. They asked for the details of the current firmware version (hence I had a pic of it) and then emailed me the update plus instructions how to do it. If you want to PM me with an email address I could sen it onto you if you need it.

That's very kind of you, Andy. When I contacted them I asked what version I should be using and they didn't answer the question. I'll PM you.

Received a W702BS today. All works well until engine is started. with ignition on all functions seem to work great. As soon as the engine is started the unit seems to lose power. Any experience of same? Any proposals for a fix?

Yes, contact customer services and they will provide you a link for an update, which you load onto an SD card and update the unit. I have a copy from another forum member that I hoped to load this week. I can send you it by email if you PM me?
