Please excuse my ignorance, if I’ve got this wrong.

I’ve recently read a piece on a Ducati forum that provides Android users to mirror their mobile direct to the LED negating the need for a Carpuride/Chigee device.

Clearly thats going to migrate to other platforms and marques.

I have started you fresh thread.

some bikes already have Carplay/AA

my Moto Guzzi has a bespoke app I can use on my phone and have routing on the screen. It could become a generic thing like cars but watch out for the fúckers only making it free for a while then need a subscription. My Guzzi will need one after 2 years when the warranty ends. Although, I don't use it but it is handy as a back up if my ancient Zumo 390 dies on a trip.

A guy up the road from me recently bought a Chinese scooter for £5,500 o.t.r. and tells me that comes with Android Auto/Apple car play screen mirroring as standard.

IMHO bike manufacturers have been caught on the back foot with the advent of Carpuride, Motor Tablet etc. showing the rider that their is a better option available to them.
Manufacturers could have had Android Auto & Apple Carplay on their bikes long before now yet didn't move with the option early enough. I suspect due to many manufacturers preferring the extra income from selling riders standalone Navigation aids such as the Nav 5 & 6 etc in BMW's case.

Its actually shocking how slow they have been, my Vauxhall car is a 2013 model and has Carplay / Android.
My GS is a 2017 and has Carpuride.

Even now the 1300 GS doesn't have it... ridiculous.

Read in a car mag, some of the main manufacturers are now moving away from car play and going back to developing their own systems. Apple are charging too much for licensing. Probably why BMW (bikes) and Yamaha are two manufacturers who don't offer car play and have their own systems, which IMHO are pretty shite. Nothing is free :)

Prehaps ive missed something ,

its just AA onscreen ?

Yes the Gold wing has it, but it also has AA / carplay as a stand alone app when linked

The Honda Africa twin has had it since 2020.
