Carry On Adventure Top Box

Just got my ally top box for my 12GSA and so far very happy. It feels like good quality kit, it's easy to fit and apparently I'm a lucky bugger because these are like hen's teeth right now?? I just rang Pidcocks and they had one in stock - so bought it.

Anyway - just wondered if you can get carry handles for it? It's a bit of a pain to carry and there are little loopy things on the top. Also are there inner bags or should I just use the big placcy bag I've used just in case of heavy rain??

BMW have a handle "system" used for both the panniers and top box, it's available through dealers.

This is it on a pannier.

My advise.... make some yourself...

I made the pannier handles from a spare set of straps from an inner bag...

Its pretty easy to do, the only pain in the ar5e is that the straps for the topbox are a different size to the panniers...

£4 option from Wilko's in Nottingham. I refuse to pay for handles for the panniers, they should be free with the panniers. Anyway Wilko's stores in the midlands sell these tie downs 2 for £4. As a bonus you can use them to strap on additional luggage, Tents and stuff.

Had a doh! moment when I read your replies! Got some tie down straps lying around and was going to chuck them out so thanks for the advice!

Or go to a Triumph dealer and ask for a few of the crate tie downs that new bikes are delivered with - they normally throw them away. They're good quality as well.

As are the bmw ones that come with the crated bikes. Used them to strap things to the bike on my Eastern Europe trip, and best of all they cost nothing.
