Any good pubs with accommodation around Castle Bolton, Yorkshire Dales - thinking of walking in the area with the other half one weekend.

The idea came from her, she was there walking with her friend on Saturday, can't remember the place name, some falls or something - she and her friend have done lots of walking in Yorkshire, 3 peaks etc, normally stay in youth hostels, but she wants something a bit posher for us

I live about 3 miles away and the Bolton Arms is the place to go, it does good honest pub food that doesn't rip you off. If you want something at the other end of the scale have a look at the Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton especially if you like seafish and parted with your cash.
From Castle Bolton it's a good walk over to the Bridge Inn at Grinton for a pint or two before a walk back.

It changed hands last year, people have said the food is good I don't know about the rooms, the whole place was gutted when they moved in.
Thanks - looks good on their website so have taken a punt and booked a couple of nights - we will ride up on the bike, hopefully do a walk and find some scenic roads to ride
When are you up & about here?
I have booked the nights of 26/27th June - idea is to ride up Friday, walk in the afternoon - bike ride on Saturday, ride back down here Sunday evening.
