Any "Tosser" up for something a little different, might consider coming along to Castle Combe circuit on Saturday June 4th.
The police Forces of the south west ( Devon & Cornwall, Dorset, Glos & Wilts) have joined their colleagues in Avon & Somerset in hiring Castle Combe circuit for the day in connection with BikeSafe.
Any rider who has never ridden around a circuit, but fancies a go, can come along & have some exploratory laps, BUT the catch is, he or she has to undertake an on-road assessment of their riding first. Once they've done that, & after passing the sound check (standard Gixers, for instance, won't pass) the rider then gets a briefing & some lap time. That costs £25. We'd love to offer this free, but the medical cover, marshals & Third party Liability insurance costs all mount up.
We've got other displays, including Steve Colley, so if the weather is kind, it should be a good venue for a ride-out
Just to clarify matters,
Entrance to the Castle Combe event is FREE.
To have an assessed ride out on the road is FREE.
The £25 charge only applies if you wish to avail yourself of the chance to go around the circuit, but you do need to pre-book, because there are only a given numbers of "slots" available.
