Update

This was a good day, with realworld weather ( rain ) helping to make the braking and slow speed exercises interesting.
Our day was two groups, mine on track am, classroom pm. Would have preferred more alternating between these, as after lunch "all" classroom is a no no for me!

Slow turns, combined with rear brake drills were relevant and demonstrated well; as were front wheel lock ups in a straight line. In my case on wet grass with abs; all ok and no one down. Thus we we were gaining an understanding of how each brake works and the force that can be used, especially in straight lines. Free discussion was encouraged and as we had instructors to novices in our group, was most helpful. With sessions on track to practice, It was a good morning and helped me to consolidate the drills. No spills either!!

Afternoon sessions were ok, but this is where I begin to lapse from great interest to that urge to just close my eyes, just for 5 mins......
One of the Hopp team talked about the morning session, and clarified any issues arising after our track sessions.
We than had Avon man talk about tyre constructions and uses and new trends to move away from cancer inducing rubber compounds to semi synthetic ones in order to save all that cancer causing residue floating about on the roads. He was excellent.
Some scenario discussion and Q & A, very worthwhile.
Basic maintenance was looked at; how to recognise potential problems and demonstrations of how to check chains....good for GS owners....

All in all well recommended. You will take what you need, and hopefully confirm what you knew and correct what you misunderstood. Worked for me!
