will taking the cat out of the exhaust system on my 1100GS and replacing it with a straight through connector improve the breathing and therefore performance. as a result of doing this would any mods need doind to fueling, ignition etc.
Last but not least, does anyone make a stainless straight through connector pipe.
I dont want to go to the expense of a complete new system. Cheers DAZCO

You'll get plenty of replies this evening I should think.

Removing the cat will certainly release some mid-range ponies, and you shouldn't need to mod anything, but as an 1150 owner, I can't help you with exhaust options.

If your 1100 is like mine then the CAT-Silencer is one gurt big lump.

I vaguely remember a thread about cutting the collector box open and removing the cat but a quick search turned up nothing.

yeah, the Cat box is almost big enough to park a large car in, YOU know about Landrover size, probably be easier to replace with through pipe, still looking.
