How long does the catalytic converter last on a boxer?
Is it's life affected by burnt oil contaminents in the exhaust?

Should be good for about 40 years, and "No".

Then again, that's coz my usless heap of heavy junk is in the back of the garage roof.

Mine lasted about a week... before fitting a 'Y' piece..

Now it lives in the garage loft somewhere..

For about as long as it takes to buy and fit a Y piece.
Mine is now wrapped up and in the garage somewhere.

Mine is in the bike still, its the end can thats shoved in a corner somewhere. I dont care how long it lasts as bikes are not tested for emmisions.
