Now I know some people dont like the new LED indicators, but after hitting a silly pigeon at 60 today which I dont mind saying inserted the wind up me somewhat as he flew straight out the fekkin hedge! After picking off all the feathers from the handlebars, I noticed the little blighter had knocked the indicator out! Going to be a dear run out I laughed to myself, but no, they just pop back in a treat - not a mark on it! Germans.. great arn't they?:bounce1

You missed a trick though - you should have collected the pigeon and cooked it on the engine.

Lucky

I would consider this a lucky moment with a positive outcome. A few weeks ago I hit a mallard duck fair and square on the top of my helmet (I leant forward to dodge it so it hit me right on the top of my helmet). The next thing I remember was the bike kangarooing in one the the high gears (4th 5th or 6th can't remember) at about 10 mph as I slowed down. I actually lost from my memory the time from the impact (circa 50mph) to the time that the bike was chugging along the roadside at 10mph. I suggest that I was semi concious and relaxed my grip on the throttle. How I stayed upright I just do not know. 10 minutes later I am again stopped on the side of the road with loud ringing in my ears and a slowly stiffening neck! The ringing in my ears took about 3 days to subside and the stiff neck over a week.

I feel we have both been lucky.
