Did mine today

Seemed to have a bit more trouble than you did Den, had to remove the headers to get enough "float" in the systen to get everything to line up, then the BMW clamps don't tighten enough to get a good seal so had to shim them, still all fitted now and the Y piece has got rid of the surging.

Insurane reminder

Just a reminder peeps.. check with your insurance.. removing a cat can count as a power upgrade mod.. and if you have done it and you total the bike. you may find your self without insurance and facing a heft fine..

By all means, inform your insurers but removing the cat isn't increasing the bike's power & my insurers are BMW (used to be Equity Red Star but I think it's Churchills now). They accepted that it was necessary when travelling & unable to source unleaded fuel....;) Now the Remus can & chip are a different matter......:D Again though, they were happy to accept these & didn't increase the premium.

Paul,

Interseting, I have the Bee-emm insurance (recently renewed). Last time round they said "no after market cans", this time round they said "E marked after market cans are OK".

By the way I was gonna fit a TT seat notified them but then fitted an Adv one. They still had to check that was OK. Bluddy red tape.

I know what you mean about red tape.

I've also fitted alloys from an R1100R so I can use road biased tyres as I learnt my lesson taking the big b'stard offroad. It's got an Adv tank now & these were all fine, although I'll only get the cost of a std tank as a replacement if it's claimed for. This doesn't matter to me as I've got stacks of spares, including a pristine std tank, gearbox, fork sliders, screen, seat, rocker covers & protecors..... I pick them up off eBay if they come up cheap enough.

Amazingly, in this photo, all I did was break a mirror. I saved the big damage until I hit a rock & concrete fence post later in the day. :D
