Question for anyone in the know about these sort of things.
Denise has an '09 Kawasaki KLX 250, which has an electronic restrictor on 1st, 2nd and 6th gear, something to do with emisions I think. Top speed is therefore limited to just over 60mph, which is no fun on dual carriageways!
I have been told of a "fix" which fools the electics to think that the bike is in neutral, and therefore needs no restriction. This is done by cutting one of the wires from the CDI and joining it to another (I know which wires, not just any random combination). I would like to do this, but via some sort of switch, so that she can still have the "softer" option for snotty conditions.
So, what kind of switch?

I don't know how to say it in electrical speak, but this is it in English:
as standard, wire one and two go from a) to b) and c) to d) uninterupted, switching on converts to wire one from a) joined to wire two c) to d). Wire one does not reach b)
I could draw a picture, but my pen won't write on the screen. :nenau

If I understand you correctly, you need a single pole / double throw switch (SPDT). The centre terminal will connect to point a with the outside terminals going to b and c respectively.

So:

Position 1, a joined to b whilst c joined to d

Position 2, a joined to c and d - but not b

It seems that c and d are permanently connected together from what you describe.

Does this help?

That's the one exactly, ta.
Since then I have found an easier method though, if you bridge the clutch switch wires, it removes all the restrictions. :D
Cheers
