Hi,

I am considering the purchase of the inner bags for the Vario panniers and have bioled it down to one of these 2 I think - does nayone have any experience/comments on the quality etc, to help with the choice?

:)

I got my inner bags from Kathy's Journey Designs in the USA. They are also expandable like Mane Event with a clever zip system and are well made kit. Got them direct from bobsbmw.com in the USA, although I got stung for VAT when they were delivered. :spitfire I think you can get them in the UK as well, but the price is higher.

Just use carrier bags.... much cheaper, fit to any space....

My vario panniers have been through some right storms and never once have they leaked.

Most of the liners will claim to be water resistant - the material is waterproof, but the zips / stiching not necessarily so. I bought the Kathy's bags because they look OK off the bike - I can take work stuff in them and use them like a briefcase for visiting customers. I don't really expect them to get wet inside the panniers, but they are another layer of insurance for your gear.:thumb2

I also bought a pair of Kathy's Journey Designs pannier liners from Bobs BMW in the USA - took just one day to get here via UPS. A great set of bags with nice compartments in inside to keep everything tidy. I use the bags regularly and they have not yet let any water in. I was also stung with import tax some 60 days after delivery, but I still think they were cheaper from the US than buying them here from the UK.

Cee Bailey.

I have the above. (all 3) they are very good. If you need luggage to take into hotels then these are stylish. If you are camping bin liners will do. Depends on what style you consider yourself. I have used them over a few trips and am pleased. If you would like a Cee Bailey tall/wide screen I have one for consideration.

Pays your money and takes a chance.

Don't have these myself, but saw them while having my Autocom fitted here. www.chainspeed.co.uk They looked like great bits of kit.

We use the BMW inners with the bike and as aircraft cabin luggage. Top quality kit (if expensive) but bin liners will hold more in the vario panniers.

Try, http://www.cruiserbackrest.com

I have'nt bought any myself but I expect I will some time. They seem good value and there are write ups on here if you search.
I have ordered the bags from http://www.cruiserbackrest.com they look OK, expand with the panniers and cost around £68 including shipping which is better value than most. I may of course get stung on import tax but we will see - still cheaper.

I will let you know what they are like in the flesh!

Cheers

bin liners all the way:) cheap, easy to use and can be used to make inpromtu fixings to hold side panels on:thumb

bin liners seem a great idea - surely if you pay top dollar for genuine OEM vario panniers you won't want to stuff them with bin liners - i reckon the bmw OEM inner bags look both the business and look top quality too - i suppose at the end of the day you get what you pay for :)
