Centopassi

Yes i have always wished to do this event
What class did you enter , Competition or Iron man
what fuel range is required ?

phil

was in the Iron man class, same route as competition class.
At the time I had a Multistrada.
All sorts of bikes take part, so I don't think tank range is an issue.

Centopassi Info'

Hello all. I'm new here so treat with care...

Just been reading some of your comments re' Centopassi.

I did the event in 2006 on BMW K1200RS. The event started from Nice and I can say it was fantastic. I did find my bike a little heavy going on the comanding routes!
2007 I also did the event, this time on a GS1200, super. Bolzano was the location with an overnight into Slovinia.
Last year, 2008 I have yet again done the event this time on a GSA1200. I managed to almost finish in the top 10 but not quite.
Each time myself and some friends have entered as Team UK in the comp' class but I must say that if you intend to win you must be Italian and nothing else if you know what I mean!
All in all the event is managed very well though there are always a few comunication issues due to the language.
I have met some wonderful people on the events and many of which still keep in touch.
I would advise anybody who want to do the event to make sure you are fit and you like long distance rides. Each day is normal at 250miles but remember, the average speed is about 35 - 40 mph with most of the gears being 2nd and 3rd. Twisty mountain roads, time checks, route maps with just enough detail, good food, good company...
You will be pleased to see a straight road after riding The Centopassi.
If anybody wants any further info or to see some of my Centopassi pics you can email me [email protected]
Happy riding,
Dom
