Centre stand dolly - how do I get my GSA onto it without rupturing my Achilles?

recently I bought one of these Movers from MOTEA. Pretty good deal and much sturdier than the one I had in the past. Only problem, I simply cannot lift my bike onto it. Any further effort would simply do more damage to me than anything. Anyone got any tips for using one of these moves and getting the bike onto it without the colossal effort it seems to take each time.
 
What's the issue? The height of it is not much greater than floor level. Have you tried doing it with the lock in place so it can't move?

it simply wont mount. It has to be the Mover height. I had one from Louis which was better but still a struggle. Will try the 2'' wood block idea.
 
As in you can't get the stand to fully extend when on the dolly? Do you struggle to get it on the centre stand usually?

when i have the Bike luggaged up, and the suspension extended it can be a bit more difficult to get on the centre stand. So i tend to grab the rear footpeg to help pull the Bike backwards and up onto the stand.
 
I recently got one as well.
the first thing I noted was not to have the dolly lock handle on the same side as the side stand, as when mounted on centre stand you can’t get the lock handle up.
I got the bike on with ease, but the dolly was unlocked, seems to be a good way.
like the idea of rear wheel extra height, might give that a go
 
I bought one gor my GSA. I could not get it on centre stand for the life of me. Waste of money and sent it back. Think it was a Wunderlich one.
 
Run your back wheel up on a piece of 2”thick wood …. Makes the job easier

Yes indeed ; a friend of mine has made a ‘wedge’ out of strips of plywood; roll your bike up onto it . I guess the height , just lower than the resting position , whilst on the stand .
It’s a genius Achilles saver.
 
I have one I use for my lowered GS. Keys for me are
Make sure the centrestand is in the right place on the dolly towards the front and so the sidestand doesn't intergere with the locking arm on the dolly
I also make sure I've got my bike boots on so the centre stand doesn't dig into the bottom of my foot.

I've not done this but if you put the suspension on max it'll mean you don't have to lift it as far.
 
Stand on something that cancels the height difference between your bike on the floor and a normal lift onto the centre stand and the higher lift onto the bike dolly. I have to do this when putting my bike on the centre stand on my bike bench as the bench platform is 250mm of the ground

So i tend to grab the rear footpeg to help pull the Bike backwards and up onto the stand.
I grab the nearest part of my crash bar with my left hand, and with my right hand grab the top part of the pannier frame and always wearing my riding boots.

If you have ESA, just set the suspension to highest preload. I suggested that to RichardBD after he busted his calf. It makes a helluva difference.
 
just noticed that the moteo mover has a huge design fault and effectively is useless!.
I realise why I simply cant get the bike onto the stand. There is a clear gap in the mover where the back tyre should be placed before lifting. Next to that is the bar which raises / locks the mover while doing so. Problem is that this is too short and the centre stand on the bike interferes with this meaning you cant have the stand locked and then lift. If you lift the bike onto the stand without the locking bar in place then you cannot lock the mover afterwards which makes getting it back down impossible. I tried this on my 50cc scooter which weighs only 90kg and it was a disaster. What a crappy design. Absolutely useless. Off to the scrap yard with this one.

I bent the locking lever to 45 degrees in the vice so it clears the stand. A foot long bit of tube from a broken bottle jack is then used to provide the leverage with little effort To turn the locking lever.

As @ChazzyB says putting the suspension on max helps. It is fiddly as you need to align the centre stand up correctly for it to work. On my Lowered GS I have a line I've put on the dolly that I line up the inside of the centre stand leg up with. I start with the bike on the side stand, put the dolly in place the lift the bike upright to check alignment then with the dolly brake off put the bike on the stand, the dolly moves on the wheels moving towards the front of the bike when I do it. I only use the brake when I go to get the bike off. I've been using this method since 2015 without any real issues. The key is to make sure the bike is square on the dolly before yiu lift and the arm of the centre stand is in the gap between the rear wheel and the inside of the lever. As has been said you could bend it 45 degrees or get someone to cut the lever extend it out using a sleeve and reweld it. 20230813_113356.jpg
 
maybe something crazy but the issue for me is getting the bike high enough to be able to lift it onto its center stand on the dolly without rupturing anything in the process.
By my reconning you need to be able to lift the back wheel somehow. What about lifting the back wheel to the point you can lower the centre stand and then lower the back wheel again so that all drops nicely down onto the dolly. Sounds complex but what I mean is would one of these not help?
Do they work for GSA?
If I can lift the back wheel up, drop the centre stand, move the dolly into place and then lower the back wheel surely job done - no?

I might be missing something here, but - why not spin the dolly round 180 degrees so the red L shaped handle doesn't get in the way of the centre stand lever??
And... drive the bike onto a bit of plank ( about 1.5" high) kick the dolly into place then put it on the centre stand? Would that work?

tried and the bar prevents the centre stand fitting into the tray of the dolly.
