On the 1150 the springs are the same length for both the Adv and GS, it's the flat piece of steel shackle (Part #3 & #13 respectively) that varies in length between the GS and GSA
Bastard of a job, enlist a friend.............the double springs are really strong

Indeed, i remember when i changed my standard GS centre stand for an ADV version because i'd fitted Ohlins shoicks which made the bike slightly taller.
The stand was only about half inch longer, and the 5 minute job turned into 3 hours as i searched for the parts, just as i found and fitted one bit, then so i needed another part, and on and on it went..

We did the same, when going from an Adv stand to a GS stand, for shorter shocks - I left the shorter Adv shackle on the spring and now the centre stand has the recoil of a clay pigeon trap.............
The correct spring and shackle are all there for the shorter stand Steve. Use a ratchet strap to tension the spring in place......makes a tough job easier.....some useful YouTube advice. Hermes say they’re delivering today mate......good luck
