Could be interesting. Bit more punch? Ride by wire throttle? Cruise?

The 450MT is still pretty much sold out / order and wait a bit, I expect could be quite a queue for a 550 if it materialises.

It would be great if they resist the temptation to add weight with unnecessary extras / rider aids.
Fingers crossed, sub 190kg kerb weight /fully fuelled etc

Totally agree - here is hoping! The 450 cruiser vs 550 cruiser from CF moto that are already out is 14kg heavier for the 550.

CFMOTO 550MT AND 550MT-X - The road focused 550MT and adventure touring 550MT-X

***** More details to follow of UK Pricing and Availability *****

Both bikes are powered by an all-new 527cc parallel twin kicking out 53bhp at 8500rpm with 38lb.ft of torque at 6000rpm, 10bhp more than the current 450. The MT-X also boasts 3 fewer kgs than the 450 at 172kg dry.

The MT-X shows off its off-road credentials with spoked 21in front and 18in rear wheels, fully adjustable KYB suspension with 230mm of front and 220mm rear travel and 250mm ground clearance (30mm more than the current 450). A beaky front mudguard, matching handguards, a single piece seat, and upswept exhaust complete the look.

The electronic package also looks to aid riders on the dirt with an up/down quick shifter and off-road mode, which allows for traction control and rear-wheel ABS to be deactivated. An off-road-style 6.2in vertical instrument panel allows riders to pair their phone with Motoplay for beaming sat nav instructions and other controls.

The road-focused MT has a more road-orientated chassis with smaller spoked 19in front and 17in rear wheels for better handling on tarmac. It comes with an adjustable (800-820mm) two-piece seat for rider comfort, a large 28-litre fuel tank for range and the same quick shifter found on the MT-X

Looks great . Only 172 kgs dry , so just a few more kgs than the F450GS and the MT Road version has a 28 litre tank so good for over something like 400 mile range .

I can see this being a huge seller. The 450 MT is £5699 plus OTR so doubt this will be much over £6k.

Well, this MTX puts the cats in with the birds

After just saying my 390 R will probably be the last dirt focussed bike I buy!! I'm going to put a deposit on one now....can always cancel.

Just a shame that the MT has cruise and CarPlay but the X doesn’t

Yep, both great looking bikes. Nailed it.

Have to say that I really like the look of the new Himalayan 750 as well. There really is a lot of choice these days. Sticking with the 1290 for a touring bike though as it's such a brilliant 2-up machine.
