Can anyone recommend a supplier of a chain and sprocket set for an
X-Country, with a steel rear sprocket , standard gearing ?

Cheers,

Not sure about the Xcountry, but the XChallenge has a steel sproket option for the rear- from bmw.

Apart from that try Talon- does the rear have to be steel?

And greg masters for chains :D

Tried Ally rear sprockets a few times in the past when I used to do a lot of Greenlaning and found that they didn't last anywhere near as long as the steel ones.

Piggers.

Afam do a steel rear sprocket. Off the top of my head, try bike torque racing for them. Alternatively Stephan will supply a 49 tooth.

I bought mine from dkmotorcycles.com:

DID BMW DID Chain And Sprocket Kits G650 X-Challenge/X-Country (2007-2010) Recommended Upgrade 520VXGB-112 1 £93.99 £93.99
Shipping £4.95
V.A.T. £15.66
Grand Total £98.94

Standard sprocket sizes and steel all round. Seems ok so far and I didn't find cheaper elsewhere with that spec of chain..
