Chances of a BMW retro fit?

I love my 2013 LC, never fails to put a smile on my face, but athe risk of being a moaning old git....Getting a bit fed up with getting my legs covered in crap and road dirt due to lack of decent factory fitted 'mud sling'
I understand that the new 2014 LC and GSA have a decent attempt at a mudguard fitted, is there any realistic chance do you think that we 2013 owners might get one retro fitted? I know NN does them but that is a lot of money for a bit of plastic that should be on there in the first place.
I hear the new ones have a steering damper fitted too, but that is another story I am sure!

Of the two, I leave you to decide which is the better value in the short, medium and longer term.



PS It's nearly spring, the birds will be singing and the sky blue. The road muck of East Sussex and dirty trousers will be but a distant memory. You and your awesome steed will be as one; knights of the road. :beerjug:

No chance - best thing to do is remove the rear crud catcher which just recirculates the spray off the back tyre and costs you nothing ;)

 
Get bobber mudguard from ebay and have a proper hugger like this -

The new mudguard is not that much bigger than the old one. To be honest, I had to look twice to notice the difference.

The Mudsling will do a proper job, when it is eventually launched.
 
I took the TUV shovel off mine because it just throws muck forwards even with a hugger.
A number plate crud catcher keeps the box and pillion seat clean.
The final drive and swing arm gets more clagged up on low speed mud but 90% of the time the bike is cleaner without the shovel.
