CHANGE OF BIKE - ADVICE NEEDED

Bob,

Yes you are correct. For _only_ £80 (or you can make it two payments over two months) they will advertise your vehicle until it is sold! CarData have buyers queuing up ...... blah, blah, blah.

And if the vehicle doesn't sell they'll often give you free accommodation for a weekend away! Never heard of anyone getting their free weekend though. Neither have I ever heard of anyone successfully selling their bike/car through them. (And yes they did sucker me in once. The story regarding that particular bike's sale is for another time round a camp fire.)

In Scotland, MCN does not appear to be the way to advertise anything other than a CBR600F. BikeTrader (or even AdTrader) appears to be more effective.

As for the engine cases, I'd start the warranty claim and get them replaced right at the end of the warranty, or about a month before you sell it. You don't want them to be too shiny for the sale!

I'm a believer that the right bike/deal will find you. Eventually. The waiting is a killer though.

to the madhouse. As an 1100 owner I'm slightly biased, and everyone knows they're the best!

Depends really on what budget your on. The 1100 is a very capable machine.

I'll second that , with a free breathing pipe and performance chip they have plenty of go, tho I did buy a 1200 Daytona recently for added WOOSH !

finance/changing bikes etc

Having given the matter some serious thought, I'm going to stick with the Bonnie.

I've made 8 payments of £108 = £864. Plus the depreciation of £1500 makes £2364.

That's 2 1/2 grand for 8 months and less than 3000 miles. Money which will effectively be written off, just because I 'fancy a change'.

Common sense has prevailed on this occasion and the Bonnie will just have to stay under wraps in my garage.

Looks like a GS is just going to have to wait.

Thanks to you all for your wise words.

Bandit has the itch

lets have a bet........

by july the new bike question would have been addressed again and a new bike will be in the garage.

£3k of depreciation will not be an issue ;)

the itch only gets bigger from here.
