change of seat with hardware

New to bmw and Picked up my 1200gs yesterday and rode 120 miles home. Bike's great but the low seat on it will need to go. As I have no knowledge of these seats my question is this. Do all low and standard gs or gsa seats come with the hardware to attach to the frame? The salesman said that all the hardware had been removed from my low seat.
Can I buy a used seat off ebay and expect it to have the fittings attached.
Any pics showing me would be really helpful.

I take it you mean a hex head and not a new watercooled bike..
If so the mounting hardware on the seat base consists of four rubber bands and two attached metal bars, they can be swapped from seat to seat in minutes.
The only other difference may be the front frame mounts but unsure if they change them for a factory lowered seat.
As for seats a standard GS seat will fit a GSA and visa versa , I run the seat off a 2005 GS on my 2011 GSA with no problems.
I bought my GS seat with a tatty cover off ebay for £30 (with all the fittings) and got it recovered locallly to match the rear GSA seat for £80

Thanks Neil. Yes a hexhead, sorry didn't make that clear. I can't live with the low seat so I need to get a standard gs or gsa seat. I will keep looking on ebay and our forum for one.

When my 2009GS and later 2011GSA went to the dealer for a service/recall I took my BMW low seat and later TT Kahado low seat off my bike and fitted onto the loan bike, never a problem, both bikes obviously came with standard seats in the first place.
