I need to replace the cam-chain tensioner rail (plastic) on the LHS top, as it's broken. I'm told the only way to do this is to split the crankcases, as it pivots on a pin sandwiched between them.
Apparently a better option is to put in a new bottom-end. Motorworks have a few @ £475 a shot, but obviously the major deal is fitting it in the bike - changing the cylinders/heads being comparitively minor in comparison.
Any recommendations of an independent who could do this? I've established it's just not worth doing on a 77,000 mile bike at BMW labour rates
I don't need it doing 'yesterday'. It's a 2006 GSA.
