Does anyone knows how to change the break pads on BMW 650gs 2001 reg (no ABS) i need to change mine but not sure how difficult it is?

thank you.

Hello efe_miller one of the best places to look for information on the 650 is here at The Chain Gang Site

As for changing the pads they are easier than doing a really easy car set. Just remember to knock the pins out the right way.

Which is?? :nenau
I looked at the service manual circulated via this site a while ago and was none the wiser. But then I am a bit dim when it comes to mechanicals

After I messed up the brakes on my car once, I concluded that brakes are the one thing I don't want to do myself - I don't mind if the bike won't start because of my incompetence, but I really quite object to the bike not stopping because of the same problem!

If you're in N.E. London there's a really good little independent workshop / dealer on the A12 near Newbury Park station - they're quite good at changing brake pads!

In a nutshell:
(be sure the cups are clean btw, if they are not you need to clean them first which basically means disassembling the caliper)

slide the cups back back into the caliper by firmly gripping the the caliper and pushing it towards the disk.
remove locking clip.
remove the sliding pin.
remove pads.
make sliding pin nice and clean.
smear some copper grease on the back of the new pads.
install new pads.
slide the pin back in.
place locking clip.
squeeze brake lever a few time till the pressure is back.

(and excuse my worstest English please?)

The only thing i'd add to max's method is to put some copper grease on the pin too, as they can sometimes get corroded into the caliper (believe me i know!!)
