my breakpads are due for renewal, bought a set from Motorworks, tried to fit them. All fine in caliper, but I CAN'T GET THEM ONTO THE DISK :( ??? The fit is just too tight (ie. almost seems like the pads are too thick.

Put the old ones back on, and after refitting the calipers, the brake leaver still has a little pumping to do before the pads sit on the disks.

Any ideas anyone???

Have you retracted the brake caliper pistons fully ??

Steptoe, when i took the old pads out, I cleaned the inside of the calipers (and everything else) thoroughly, as I've been riding throughout winter and (not only) the calipers looked accordingly. The pistons were flush with the caliper, so I assume I have done this??? Or anything else I should/need to do???

Are they front or rear? if rear then one pad should be thicker than the other. EBC originally made the HH pads with them both the same thickness and then had to withdraw them. The new HH pads are the right thickness....Just a thought.

they are front, but it's a thought, I'll check them tomorrow (I have pads for front and back ...)

But wouldn't that already affect the currently fitted old pads???
No, it's only when you try to push the pistons back that you would find out that the system has gone into hydraulic lock because there's no room for all of the fluid which has been displaced from the calipers.
