changing music files??? help needed!!

hi all,
i am trying to install music from laptop to zumo 660. problem i have ( i think) is that the files on my laptop are all MPEG-4 audiofiles. am i right in thinking that these files need to be changed to mp3 files??
if so any ideas how to change them?

To play on the zumo they have to be MP3, for the second part google is your friend
