Hi

My 04 GS is in really good condition except for the heated grips which are quite worn - if I can get a better complete set from a breakers is it an easy winter job to change them?

If it's a winter job, that imply's the bike is off the road in the winter, therefore you dont need heated grips.
It takes about an hour to fit heated grips, never seen second hand ones for sale, you risk damage removing them.
Get a set of Gerbing heated gloves and that will do all your winter bikes.

I use heated grips all year round. If it's a chilly evening, I love having warm hands.

Heated grips are for life, not just Christmas...

I do use the bike all year but with the snow and ice at the moment I cannot get it out of my garage - also I am on leave for about 3 weeks at Christmas so was thinking of doing the swap them.
Motoworks (?) do seem to have some S/H ones.
