Changing the OEM Screen - 1150GS

Have just bought and MRA screen to fit instead of the OEM.... have checked various other threads on here (!) but none mention the torx bolts that hold ths mounting hardware to the oem... what size are these little f*ckers!

Neither of the two torx "allen-style" keys from the toolkit fit and I have two torx screwdrivers that are also too big. I thought I'd ask for assistance on here from my expert peers rather than lug the screen down to Halford's to try a few out....

Forgot to mention i have the adventure screen fitted, so i'm not sure if they are the same size.

I think you may have a torx key missing from your tool kit - my tool kit definitely had one that fitted.....

I was attempting the same thing on Saturday, and got to the same point, with the same result.

What ever size it is it ain't in the tool kit.

Mike are you sure?
I think "they" mean the x4 tiny torx screws that that fit onto either side of the screen.

Dont forget to tighten your screen adjuster knobs.

Sorry, thought you meant the bolts that hold the screen to the bike. On the Adv the black plastic mounts are bonded onto the perspex, IIRC

You will need a T10, not in the tool kit so you will have to go to Halfords.

Replaced my standard screen with one off the ADV. No probs, the correct torx key was in my toolkit!

T10 is right! Just borrowed a German socket set with T10 to T50's in it and yes it looks right....

With the right tools it's a mere 16 minute job. Now to check through the threads to get suugestions how to set it up for a fattish bloke 6ft tall seat on highest setting!
