charging a K800i

is it possible to charge one with a third party USB adaptor such as this one?

very useful bit of kit, charges my ipod and mrs cookies blackberry, but won't charge my sony erricsson phone.

sometimes it appears to charge, but actually isn't. sometimes after being connected, it still claims to be charging

i think it needs something in the charger to tell it, it's just a charger & not a pc, then it might actually get to the charge phase properly

any ideas?

The K800i comes with a USB cable which will charge the phone when connected to a PC. Not sure if everything works ticketyboo when plugged into something that isn't a PC though.

Are you sure the charger plug(phone end) is ok? I had the same thing on the mains and when I took it out the phone was still flat. One of the prongs wasn't making contact properly, after a quick fiddle with it all works well now.

Oh, and on the USB charging on the pc, mine only ever charges to 90% and never any more. Yet with the mains charger it always gets the 100% charge.

i'd have guessed bad connection too

Check the lead charges the phone from the PC.... i know i've had a few problems with mine at times between PC and phone

same USB lead is now on my pc and happily charges the phone. it's only when plugged into the USB charger that problems arise.

i still think it sees the charger as a pc that doesn't work properly
