I'd like to be able to power my camcorder and charge its battery using the built in power socket on the bike. I'm using a sony digital camcorder and so it's a fairly new model. Anybody already doing this or know how to go about it?
Regards, Steve.

If you can get a car charger for the camera or battery, then you can charge it in your tank bag. If you need the hardware to get power to your tankbag, have a look at Powerlet - they're a good company to deal with in my experience.

I've variously recharged my phone, iPod, PDA and camera batteries using this kit...

Instaed of using buying lots of car chargers for each item why not simply buy an inverter which will allow you to plug normal house plugs in??

Where's the advantage - you'd still have to carry a load of cables around...

Excellent site Mike. Well spotted.

One thing though, how do you connect an MP3 player to the SAE 2 pin plug inside a tank bag? I assume you have to have an adaptor for that too?

PS
Are they reliable buying online or did you buy whilst on your trip?

I used the twin cigar lighter adaptor - you just need the car charger for whatever you want then. I bought the kit before I left and installed it in the bag (I run power from the socket on the beak)...

Thanks for the replies folks.
I've been completely daft though. I didn't think Sony made an 'in-car' power lead for my camcorder but they do, I've just found one on their web site. It's not the cheapest bit of kit going but I might be able to pick up cheaper in the U.S.

For anybody else that may be interested, the product I'm after is the Sony DCC-L50B.

TTFN.
