Hi Folks,

As a newbie to touring. What`s the best way to charge up mobiles, i pods and cameras while you`re on the road (mainly camping)?

Charging Your Mobi!

Hi Brian,
I bought a cheepo car cigarette lighter power splitter (the ones with the coiled lead and multiple sockets) then cut the original plug off and connected a BMW type plug in its place. Total cost about a fiver!
The adapter sits in my tank bag with my phone/iPod car chargers or what ever else pugged in and charging. Sorted!

I came up with a similar solution. I have a tank bag that I used to house all my bits' n bobs - Autocom 300, ipod, mobile, bike to bike radio for talking to others on longer trips, etc. I made up a (fused) loom going straight from the battery which pops out just near the nearside front of the tank, with a waterproof connector. Then I plug in the tank bag for power. Inside this I also have a splitter with a cigarette lighter socket.

If you want to power something that would usually be mains powered, you can get a small inverter that also plugs into the socket. The alternative is a solar cell charger strapped over the back luggage.

Hope that all makes sense! Good luck.
