I went for an optimate too.. mainly for the sake of convenience. using it with the bikes own power socket. I don't use it so much now.. new battery last year and nothing on the bike thats a constant draw. No alarm for instance. It will get pulled out if over the winter I get ABS faults.. which for my 1100 at least is the first clue that alls not well in battery land. Optimate for convenience. But only when the bike tells me it needs it.
