Cheap airport parking misery....

Parked my car at a hotel for a week at a very good price. However when I arrived back yesterday the car was gone. It's an old car and worth very little so unconcernedly I went to reception asking after it. Two hours later and a few cups of free coffee I suggested that maybe ringing the garda would be a good idea.... Turns out the car had been broken into and that it was taken away for fingerprints (my arse)... Anyway I got it back and the hotel said they would arrange a new window. So we had breakfast and waited and waited. By now it was four PM and I took the family room offered to me and stayed until this morning when I finally got the car back. Had a nice meal a la carte yesterday too.

Anyway it all worked out, I got the parking for free, the hotel for free and meals for free... The car was also fixed for free. Cost NOWT if you had not worked that out yet....

But I was a bit pissed off with their lack of communications, they should of know it was gone and it cost me 24hours of my time. BTW nothing was taken from the car including new GPS and expensive dive computer which I always leave in the car as all my diving is done from sites I drive to in the car.

I won't name the Hotel as they were very good to us, If I was stroppy maybe I could have got more too, but that is not my style...

In fairness, it sounds like you should be writing a big thank you letter to the hotel manager.
Most hotels would have politely pointed out that cars are parked at the owners risk and at most have got you a number for a window repair place.

As for the two hours wait before calling the Gardai, they probably heard your accent and though you just couldn't remember where you parked it

I agree, they were very kind to us and I am not complaining.

I think the reason they were so good to us is that they had no idea it was gone, due to internal bad communications. As for my accent. I prefer it not to change than have one of those crap English living in Ireland accents that some tend to pick up. And no I am not thinking of anybody from here.

I am Irish, the accent does not deter from that, does it? There will be a new generation of people coming along like me now that all the youngsters are leaving again...

i'd be f*cking amazed if it were anything to do with "Shamble Catering" / bewleys.
in my dealings with that company, i find they specialise in employing management people that are so tight - they squeak when they walk.
in contrast - i find the Frontline staff, without exception to be really very nice.

maybe it's just my experience.
