Cheap alternative ???

One look at the quality of that link pipe tells you everything you need to know.

Remind me how much your WC cost?

Considering there’s probably no real reason to change in the first place it’s a much cheaper badge. I just don’t get why anyone would change a perfectly good exhaust and spend 100s in the process. JJH

Probably not CE approved or whatever standard it is supposed to meet. Much more realistic price though, for what is just a fancy metal tube, than the ridiculous near £1000 prices for the usual suspects.

For the price of a night out, what's the worst that can happen? :D

Looks like Stevie Wonder has got himself a new job.

What is it you get? The top photo is clearly of an Akropovic with the name blurred out - I doubt that's what comes in the post.

Unless Akropovic have their exhausts made in China, in which case that may be exactly what you get in the post, less the name badge of course!

You will get what you pay for.
It probably will be shockingly noisy and do nothing for performance.
Akro have the ability to make an exhaust that is usually quieter than others and of superior quality, that is why they are expensive.
On a GS you are wasting your time and money putting an end can on.

So is that why most GSers who spend a mint on a genuine AKRO then rip out the removable baffle and make as much noise as possible

I had the same philosophy when I bought a Chinese Aluminium radiator for my Versys 1000 which was £80 posted brand new. I was pleasantly surprised to find it well made with good welds etc, so I fitted it and it works better than the OE one which always ran borderline hot and it's still going 2 years later and around 15K miles.
Not all Chinese stuff is shite but it is a gamble.

It will still be quieter with a less harsh tone than probably any other brand of aftermarket can.
The best setup would be std can with decat headers and a dynojet/hilltop or whatever remap, a bit more noise (deeper) tone and some performance gains across the rav range.

Get one bought and let us know...
As said, its a mixed bag from China... I've spent a lot of time there and seen all sorts, but it could be as good as the original... or, as said above... it could come off the same line as the original.
I've seen deals in the past where original goods are made on the day shift, and 'home market' goods are made on the night shift... same line, same parts, same end result...
There again, it could be rubbish but for that price.. give it a go!!

I bought a cheap Chinese End can for my Honda 650 tracker project. £65 posted. Full stainless, TIG welding is flawless. It was in all likelihood come of the same production line as the other SC Project stuff.
