Cheap, decent little alarm system.

Is that a contradiction in terms? Usually yes but in this case it seems not. I saw these on eBay a few months ago for just over £10, and bought one just to see what it was like. Turns out to be a brilliant little system. Totally self contained, with three triple A batteries, and a remote with find me/panic button.
It can be hidden anywhere on the bike, I’ve put mine under the rack with a couple of cable ties, not easy to get at but still outside the bodywork so not muffled as such. It’s very sensitive, give a loud warning chirp if the bike is knocked or moved, then if it’s touched again it goes off, VERY loud, and changes the sound every few seconds.
It’s not going to stop your bike getting nicked, but it is going to let you and every one around know. It’s certainly going to scare the scrotes momentarily, and buy time while they are trying to find it and destroy it.
Batteries are claimed to last six months in the armed setting, I’ve used mine for 3 months in the garage and they are still fine, that’s with the cheap unbranded ones it came with.
Could be used on garage or shed doors etc too.
Yes it’s Chinese
Yes it’s cheap, but fairly robust.
No it won’t last forever and it won’t be recognised by insurance companies.
But it will buy you some time and momentarily at least scare the balaclava boys.

Just Noticed Rich (Dick the leg) posted something similar a while ago, but hey, won’t hurt to be highlighted again.

Do you still need a pound of butter in the fridge? Or does this replace it?

Quite like this setup. Cheap as chips solution to knowing someone's messing with your bike. No issues with drained bike batteries either. 👍

Used a these for years, also on the garage door.

I might fit one to my integral garage door with self adhesive Velcro strip.

No doubt I’ll forget it’s there and shit myself the first few times in panic.

Just put one on mine. Yes, it does have that effect. You can buy two and link them together for some serious immediate laxative effect.

Yep, I’ve got them on my bikes and other things.

Great value.

You can set them off with the remote too so can sound them even if you spot someone looking at your bike 😉

Does that mean you can put one on say your garage door and the other one inside the house and when the garage one is activated the one indoors one goes off too?

Not sure about that, you link them together so one remote activates/de-activates both at the same time. I’m away for a while so can’t look at the manual to find out right now, sorry.

How do you disarm it for when you want to open the garage door, or move the bike? Is that done with the blip?

I have used those personal 'rape' alarms - christ they are LOUD. The batteries don't last long and they don't like getting wet, but the ear piercing screech can be heard half a mile away, literally. £5 or £6 each. I use them for remote alarms on the boat when moored at a job, secured with TWO 12mm security chains and Gold certified locks. The little alarm is activated by pulling out a pin. I take the key ring off and use some black 20lb fishing braid. Mount the alarm behind the engine clamps, out of sight, and the fishing line with a loop on the end can be attached to a pontoon cleat, or a peg in the ground. The same system for camping on the bike, just fit the alarm behind a pannier on the frame or similar, attach the line to a tent peg. In the dark, in the grass, the line is invisible.

You hit it with a hammer. Do take care to miss your thumb.

My mum has told me off. Yes, you use the remote blipper thing, as using a hammer would just be silly and, not least, dangerous. She’s now off to help a bloke in his mid-60’s decide on whether to ride his motorcycle in his tall boots, his short boots or his slippers.
