Just bought these off Amazon - they slip over the twin rectangular pipes beautifully to keep water out when washing your bike. You just need to trim the short side off one of them to get them both to fit (lower one).

Pretty self explanatory. 40 x 30mm is the required size

Only posting to possibly help others out ( if you're as sad as me ;)).

Great idea TBF, I wonder how many of the sceptics have cap ends on the frames of their 1200 &1250 :D

Just as an observation, this is probably trying granny to suck eggs but don't aim a jetwash directly at these covers or you'll risk them flying off and spraying water straight into the exhaust. I have plastic covers on the lifting holes of our patio drain covers and when jetwashing the patio they have flown off when the jet catches them just right and they have locking tabs on them. At least you have some spares if you do. Did you buy 6, 16 or 12 ;)

Don’t forget to take them with you for when it rains ..
On all my dirt bikes and road bikes over 40 years I have never used exhaust bungs whilst washing ?

Most silencers have a drain hole at the lowest point to let any stray water out

Is it a problem - imaginary or real ?

What happens when the hapless GS rider, forgets he put the bung in and rides off? Does it fly out, James Bond style? Does it melt? Do schoolgirls point and laugh?

I’m pretty sure school girls point and laugh at GS riders anyway. Not just GS but most BMW riders. Particularly when they watch them creak and make little noise whilst getting on and or off. They also laugh at their clothing which in many cases is wider than it is long. 😂😂😂.

But think of the opportunity to manufacture holders for these when not in use. One for the bike and another one for the garage wall to keep it safely. And a travel one. In case you want to wash your bike in Tesco or the Sahara. JJH
