Cheap PD tank ?

Tell me about the price of a larger tank...I'm still looking for one plus a single seat/rack etc plus a slipstream deflector ( BMW jargon for windshield:rolleyes:) and a fork brace...other than that, mine is finished as well:(

I may have to visit you ( usually about 3.00 am :augie )

Oh, just re-read your Gambia thread...brill :-)

Ye watched it Kenny ,thought it would reach £500 at least .Correct me if Im wrong but the fellow from Motorwoks told me he can get brand new tanks from BMW ,for somewhere in the £600 region but they can take a while for a batch to be specifically made when they have enough orders:drool

I was told the same by Pidcocks. You go on an international register apparently, when they get enough people they put an order in. I wonder if this is still in place.

And to think I had the piss taken out of me for paying £425 for a new tank a couple of years ago. It was an outrageous price at the time though.

I wonder if a certain chap from Nottingham could be persuaded to part with one of his stash of tanks.

Not forgetting that the £ has lost a third of its value againts the € in the past few years.
If the positions were reversed, you would all be as happy as Larry... whoever he is:comfort

Probably hold their value more than gold ingots at the mo....Gordon Brown may have a stash of them instead of gold, and the way he is leaking our federal reserves, some may come back onto the market :D

well they are out there.just have to pay the price.
i went through three to end with the one i have now:augie
yes rob 425 seemed like a lot back then.but think you get yer money back now.:D

:P well use one o the genuine pd ones.
you could sell me one if you want:)

i had four tanks at one point;)

His plastic super tanker is proably cheaper than the tin ones, and easier to repair / less likely to get damaged. Bet he's glad petrol is now 83p a gallon rather than 110p.

Ahhh but the beauty of the HPN tank is you don't have to fill it to the neck, it's tougher as you say, gives additional weather protection and as you say is cheaper than the genuine article.

The nylon version which can be painted is "only" 585 Euro and as the moulds were binned 6 months ago and no more will be made they could be a great investment opportunity as well. :augie :D
