£100k. That's no' what it's worth. That's what it wid cost. Feckin incredible, eh? Some rich fecker wid pay that tae.

I find it increasingly hard to justify spendin' nearly 40 quid on Lagavulin. :(

He did tell me of a previous sale when some geezer bough a bottle for 80k opened it a him and his mates drank the lot in one sitting. How the other hoff live eh???

Now if you like Lagavulin ye'll like Ledaig and you'll be hard pushed to find a tastier dram.

An unsung hero of the whisky world.

First 100K bottle to be sold in the new year. Todays paper.
Seems folk are investing in expensive whiskies instead of stock and shares.

"Whiskies are becoming more rare and therefore valuable because 80% of the products we sell are actually being drunk.

ISLAY distillery Bruichladdich has reported that sales this year have exceeded expectations, despite the gloomy economic news.

Or as a distillery spokesman put it: "We like to think it's our exciting, innovative approach, the complexity and variety of our whisky. But it may be people are just fed up with the gloom, and are drowning their sorrows." :augie

Never tasted Ledaig but It seems much lighter in colour to Lagavulin. I take it that's not mirrored in the taste then?
